The Crazy Gardener
You could never accuse me of being lazy
From the first day of spring I'm garden crazy
It's out of the arm chair and off with the telly
Out with the tools and on with the wellies
The spade starts working, turning over the mud
I watch and I wait on each growing bud
Sow some new grass, and flowering seeds
Get rid of the moss, the slugs, the weeds
Watching the weather, the early frost
In garden centres, Oh! the cost
Buying trellis for the climbing rose
Wheelbarrow, pots and garden hose
I cut, I snip, I mow and I prune
Never out of the garden, May and June
July, August, never off my knees
Pottering, watering, picking sweet peas
I'm always up at the crack of dawn
Looking out at my carpet of flowers and lawn
At a glance I can spot a weed or a daisy
I'm a fanatic, I'm garden crazy
