8/18/04 Well the boys went in for their 2 month well check. They were weighed and given their 2-month shots. Everyone is doing good. Aaron Mitchell Jake 10lbs 2 oz. 7lbs 15oz 9lbs 10oz 21 1/4 in long 20 5/8 in long 21 1/4 in long 5% height <3% height 5% weight 25% weight <3% weight 5% height Adjusted (if born on due date 7/31/04 they would fall into the following % tiles - approx) 90% weight 60% weight 90% weight 80% height 70% height 80% height Marilou did not hear Jake's murmur anymore so she thinks it may have closed again but we are still keeping our appiontment for tomorrow (Thursday, 8/19/04) with the Cardiologist at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis. Now that we have three cribs we will start transitioning them into their own in the next week or so. They are getting too big for one crib anymore. They are starting to wake each other up when they move around so it is time to move into their own beds.

8/19/04 Jake saw the cardiologist at Children's hospital again today. The cardiologist listened for Jake's murmur and was pleased with what he heard. He said it sounded like the murmur has decreased if not completely gone away which would mean that the valve has closed. He wanted to make sure so he ordered an echocardiogram again. After the echo the doctor said that the valve has closed somewhat but not completely so he wants to see Jake back in 3-4 months. We will try to make the next appointment for sometime late November. There is a chance that it may take up to a year or so for the valve to completely close but the doctor said the decrease in the murmur is a good sign that it may close on its own with out intervention (surgery).

8/25/04 Aaron saw the surgeon that preformed his operation today for a post-op check up. The doctor said everything looked good but there may be a slight infection on Aaron's right side so he gave us a prescription for antibiotics. Otherwise Aaron is doing good.

9/10/04 The boys started smiling a lot more this week. Aaron loves to smile when he is getting his diaper changed and Jake seems to smile the most just before a feeding (if he isn't crying) and also right after feedings (if he doesn't fall asleep right away). Mitchell didn't start smiling until the end of this week and doesn't smile as much yet but we keep encouraging him. Smiling pictures are on the current baby pics page (Mitchell's smiling picture will be posted when he starts smiling a little bit more often).

9/13/04 We brought the boys into the doctors today because they were not eating very well anymore. Chrissy asked her Triplets-N-More group what we could do to help them eat better and as she figured the boys, Aaron and Mitchell for sure, had acid reflux. Marilou (our nurse practitioner) confirmed our thoughts. Chrissy actually thought Mitchell had this way back when he was in the Special Care Nursery but no one else thought so. So now that it is confirmed for all three and they are taking Zantac twice a day. Hopefully we will see a difference in their eating by the end of the week. While we were at the clinic the boys also had to be weighed. They are still gaining weight which is kind of surprising because of their eating habits but everyone is doing fine. Aaron - 12 lbs 6oz Mitchell - 9 lbs 10.5oz Jake - 12 lbs 4 oz They will be three months old on Thursday (September 16)...look for pictures to be posted early next week!
