12/7/05 More Misc... Sunday, December 4th we walked over to our neighbor's house at the end of the street. It was the first time the boys had been outside int eh snow/ice and had their boots, snowpants, big jackets, and mittens on. Jake face planted on the one piece of tar taht was showing through the snow/ice on the road and got road rash on his forehead. It didn't seem to hurt him too bad because he only whimpered a little and then kept walking. Needless to say we carried them home since it was so cold and they don't walk the fastest.

12/8/05 More Misc... We went to the MVMOM Evening with Santa. Shortly after we got there Jake was sitting at one of the craft tables and Matt and Santa came over to telk to Jake. Jake was just mesmorized by Santa. He just stared at him while Santa talked. He wasn't scared just watching Santa from across the table. When it was our turn to go up to see Santa AMJ decided they didn't wan to tgo near him. So we didn't get a Santa and kids picutre but we did get a picture of all 5 of us with Santa. We all had a good time anyway beside the boys being scared of Santa. They tried to share the toys that were there but sometimes thought it was just too much work. Today was actually the first time Mitchell faced forward in his car seat! What a milestone. When we went in for their "2nd" flu shot the day after Thanksgiving we asked to weigh Mitchell to see if we can soon turn his seat around (must be 1 year AND 20lbs). He was 19lbs 3.5oz. So that was about 3 weeks ago so we are guessing he is good to go. We are hoping he will be happier in the truck facing forward where he hsould be able to see out the front window since he is in the middle.

12/10/05 More Misc... Bath day was today and after AMJ were all washed up I remembered that we were going to bath them without their "rings" that they sit in. So just before we started letting water out we decided to take them out of their rings and see if they would sit nicely without them. The reason this is so "scary" is because when Matt was hunting back in November and AMJ and mom went to Grandma and Grandpa Timm's I thought we should give them baths one of those nights so I wouldn't have to do it by myself when we got home. Well that was a HUGE mistake to even try something so scarry like that. As soon as we got Aaron's toes touching the water he started screaming. Then Mitchell and Jake started their sympathy cries too. So we decided to take them out of the tub and bath them in the kitchen sink. Well that didn't go so well either. Water went everywhere but we got some soap and water over their bodies before we pulled them back out again and also one pee on the hallway carpet. So since then I told myself that we need to start working on "no ring" baths this winter so they are ok to take baths other places this summer especially up at the lake. So anyway, the rings were taken out of the tub and they plopped their butts down on the floor of the tub and just SAT there, not moving. I though, OK, at least they aren't screaming. Then Mitchell tried to move and he slipped backward and Matt grabbed his head so he wouldn't hit it and Mitchell pulled himself back up to sit on his butt. After that the "crazys" broke out. They thought this was the most fun! They started scooting and slipping around, playing with their toys. They did try to stand a couple of times but we emphasized that they needed to sit and they listened pretty well. We will see how it goes next time without rings from the beginning.

12/12/05 Misc... AMJ's latest interests: Mitchell is still very facinated with teh Tupperware shpe sorter ball. He spends a lot of time putting all the shapes into the ball and does it fairly quickly all on his own. When he wants to play with it he will bring it us so we can release all the shapes and he puts them back in all by himself. HIs favorite shape are the round ones (we have two sorters so there are two round shapes). Jake loves to take things out of buckets/boxes and put them back in. He does this for long periods of time (30 minutes to an hour). He also loves to stack yogurt cups inside one another and take them back apart. Boxes are great fun to stack too. The big diaper boxes are the best. Aaron loves to count. I started counting to three when snapping their onesies after diaper/clothes changes and Aaron started repeating and eventually said TWO, THREE (with his baby lisp) after I would say ONE. Aaron also loves to stack yogurt cups together and pull them apart to put them back togheter in different order again. His attention span at these things isn't as long as Mitchell's or Jake's but he will spend a while at some things. Aaron has figured out how to climb up on his booster chair by himself for meals. I guess he can't wait for the food but yet gets board easily after a little while of eating and plays with his plate, tipping it upside down. Someone has to be the difficult one, right? Aaron also loves to climb in his own booster chair by himself when it is meal time.

12/13/05 A big surprise for Mom When I came out of work to get in my car to head home today, I noticed that there was a card on the drivers seat. I got in and looked at it and before I finished reading Matt pulled up in the truck with the boys. The card said happy birthday mommy with "special notes" (aka "scribbles") from Aaron, Mitchell and Jake. It had a "certificate" inside that said "good for a night of thrift store shopping and dinner at Applebees with your favorite boys." I love thrift store shopping! So we all got in the truck and headed to a couple thrift stores before we went to Applebees. Matt knew that it wouldn't be a good night to go the next night (may acutal b-day) since it was supposed to snow a lot so he did it on Tuesday. It was a lot of fun!
