Kiwi Men’s Rights Have a Picnic
(In Prime Minister Helen’ s Home’s Front Garden)
We arrived at Jims to find TV3 with a hostile reporter interviewing Jim.
The interview appeared to be more like an attack, but Jim held the
line and our position with more than a deal of decorum.
TV3 then shot off to Helens to set up.
Meanwhile the troops on the ground looked a little bit thin and more than a bit of concern was creeping in.
Then with the arrival of Mark things started to pick up, the ranks began to swell, Batman arrived, Ladies and Gentleman we have a Convoy. The Convoy left Jims a little past the hour and we arrived at Helengrad very shortly after to an overwhelming presence of Police and Media.Cameras and Uniforms everywhere - one could have mistakenly thought that Bush and Blair had dropped in for a chat with Helen, surely this reception wasn’t for us.The signage was put out and the placards were borne.
The megaphone was sound checked and declared to be non noise polluting so without further ado Jim opened up the Protest with thanks to the 4P attendees, “protesters, police, press and public” then opened the pavement for anyone who wished to bother Helen.
I took the lead and spoke a little regarding bias and discrimination that I have encountered, a part referred to Police discrimination but all Tazers were holstered and no Perms issued.
With Verse 1 over Jack broke into singing the chorus accompanied by his guitar.
Lynn was next up with Verse 2 and her own perspective of the Family Court, damaged children and what she and her dad had endured through no fault of their own in a tooth and nail fight against the Cyfsterhood.
Jack back in with the Chorus.
Verse 3 Jim Bailey, always good at taking a pot at the system, followed by another young chap who had also been marginalised from his dad and had to take on the fight himself against the system to see his dad.
Jack back to Chorus.
Jack then gave an account, followed by a reading from his holy book and then motioned for a pause for the remembrance of the fathers that have died for which the system has the blood on its hands. Kerry Bevin, Political leader of the Republicans came in to bothering, advising Helen that she and her cronies were on notice and the Republicans were the Party that will stop this Systemic abuse.
Jim finally came in to summarise and gave his respects to all out on the
street.
With the signage all put away the 4P’s dispersed, the protestors
heading to the Cenotaph for a quick rememberance and a bit of PR.
While the group were relating to the public the BBQ was fired up, Salad
was prepared, balloons and lollies were given to the kiddies. The smell
of searing meat brought them back and a feast of steak, chops and sausages
filled the bellies of the botherers.
Congratulations to Candice for winning her prize of horses (the boat
reportedly sank) and Debbie took the car back to Hamilton for her boy.
I was proud to be alongside all who attended, the nation should thank you all.
Regards
Paul
