Wilson L. Underwood

Past Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the State
of Pennsylvania, took an active part in the formation of the Union, he was made Chairman
of the Jurisprudence Committee of the United Grand Lodge, on December 27,1882. He became
its' Grand Master in 1886. |

Wilfred F. Carter
Served as Grand Master MWPHGL - 1910-1911.

Brother Carter during his administration was especially concerned about the welfare of the
masonic home. He was most concerned about liquidating a $1200.00 mortgage, which was held
against the home. He appealed to the brethren to assist in disposing of the same through
free will offerings. Brother Carter, also led a delegation of Grand Lodge Officers and
Brethren for services at Mother Bethel AME Church for the celebration of the churches one
hundred twenty fifth anniversary, which was held on September 15,1911. Grand Master
Carter, in closing out his term in office, focused on improving the Grand Lodge Library.
He proposed that a committee of three be appointed to arrange for improvements to the
library, as well as the maintenance and care of the Grand Lodge Archives.

During his terms as District Lecturer he served admirably stepping down to
continue his formal education, which was paramount to himself and helpful
for his vocation. During his tenure as lecturer P.M. Askew was actively
involved with establishing the dialogue between Prince Hall Masons and the
Right Worshipful Masons in Philadelphia. Brother Askew is also a
member of the Historical Committee. Brother Askew was reappointed as a
Worshipful District Deputy Grand Master in October of 2000.
