Christian Lodge # 12, F. & A.M., was constituted in 1844, and has retained the same name and number for more than a century. Christian Lodge # 12 was originally on the registry of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania and participated in the convention, held at O'Neil's Hall, 1338 Lombard Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. on December 26,1882. The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania was represented by Brother Charles Monroe W.M.; Brother Robert Brown, SW; and Brother Jackson Stammer J.W. The result of this convention was the formation of the United Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Pennsylvania, now known as "The Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania". Among its associates on the registry of the M. W. Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania were the following friends: Sheba # 7; Harmony # 21; Morning Star # 48, which now bears the hyphenated name Tuscan Morning Star as the results of subsequent merges; King David # 52 and others whose identities became obscured because of the necessity to change some roster numbers. The convention and union firmly cemented fraternal friendship with: Laurel # 2;Phoenix # 3; Widows Son # 4;Hiram # 5; Mt. Lebanon # 9; Prudence # 11; Athenian # 24; Mt. Olive # 27; Bethel # 47; Philadelphia # 74; and a good company of other Brethren. Christian Lodge # 12 has ever been most zealous of the Tenets of Freemasonry and all its Past Masters have served with honor and some with added distinction. |
