Behold Me!
The image of Jesus standing over the Westside-beckoning, impressed me and then it got me wondering. I guess that's what wonders are all about- they get you wondering. Like, "I wonder what God is showing me here?"
As well as being a 'wonder' I believe this vision was also a sign. I know that signs usually point to something or they direct you somewhere or call attention to something. And so my wondering was along those lines. What was God directing my attention to with this? What was this pointing to? And still full of wonder, I was wondering if this was some kind of additional message in relation to understanding another 'vision' years earlier. All of my wondering would be fruitless if Jesus did not come to give us an understanding. My mind would be lost in vain meanderings if the Holy Spirit had not come to guide into all truth. And so with that in mind I want to share with you what I believe God wants to direct out hearts to: two ways of looking at what was shown.

The first way is found in the words of Jesus which are often seen with a similar image in pictures and posters where he calls,
"Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me for I am meek and lowly in  heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11.28-30
God is calling !
Calling many to Himself in this hour!
The Lord is coming in a way that many have hoped for and prayed for for a long time!
The second way and that which I want do deal with more exhaustively  is the sense that God in Christ is saying to us "Behold Me!"

"Come and see!"
John 1.39

Behold Me!
Think of it. A heavenly call- the creator of the universe seeking to get our attention, wanting to show us something; calling to us as though we are blind, groping in the darkness and saying. "Look! Come and see. Behold - Jesus! the Light of the World! You don't have ot walk in darkness any longer."

All our "seeing" up 'til now is nothing in comparison to the fullness that God brings in this season. What is the shoot and the ear to the fullnesss  of the corn?
Mark 4.28

And the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days...Isaiah 30.26
This is a call to that which is beyond just reading the words- just speaking the words: participating in the idolatry of the script. Being born anew we are empowered to apprehend what the words represent. Jesus proclaimed that the words he gave to us would be powerful- spirit and life. Being born again by the operation of God we are equipped by the Spirit for a kind of spiritual 'seeing'. Jesus said that except you are born again you cannot see the kingdom of God, but being born again we should be able to see something.

"Do you have eyes and yet you do not see?" Mark 8.18

In the book of Acts the believers were questioned, "Since you believed have you received?", talking about the Holy Spirit. Another good question would be "Since you received have you been able to see?"

"The eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of
    darkness."    Isaiah 29.18
