| The term "born again" is a familiar one in our culture, but it means different things to different people. It means one thing to the secular community and another to the religious; one thing to the Catholics and another to the Charismatics. But if we look at what Jesus said in relation to this we make some startling discoveries. "Behold..and regard, and wonder marvelously for I will work a work in your days which you shall not believe though it be told you." Habbakuk 1.5 These discoveries have dawned upon this writer over decades and through much trial, tribulation, and persecution. I say 'persecution', because the truth about "born again" is such that it is fought by many, especially those who have their own 'truth' on the subject. I say 'tribulation', because it is not easy going against family, friends, and a culture that doesn't understand this 'new life' or are openly hostile to the whole idea. Having escaped popular culture you find yourself confronted by spiritual culture holding to form but denying the power. I say 'trial', because God himself trys the heart, testing to see if you will demonstrate by you actions what has been revealed to the heart and accepted in belief: the acting out confirming what it means to truly believe something. "For not the hearers of the law are just before God but the doers of the law shall be justified." Romans 2.13 But the message and the vision call attention to what it truly means to believe and be "born again". It is about the call to "seeing' in a world where the "devil hath blinded the minds"(2 corinthians 4.4) of them that believe not and even of those who think they see. It is a discovery with recovered sight of many things that we have read that were not before alive and powerful to us; that for one reason or another we were not inclined to believe were truths to be apprehended for us now in this time and in this season of our lives. But the spirit comes to guide us into all truth, to open blind eyes, and Jesus has come to give to us an understanding. "...to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven..."
