Dewey Fire Co. Ambulance Squad is
a part of the Dewey Fire Company out of Hellertown, Pennsylvania. The station
consists of 2 PA Department of Health Licensed BLS ambulances and part
time career and volunteer staff of 10 and 42 respectively, consisting of
4 Paramedics, 35 EMT B's and 2 First Responders.
Dewey EMS serves the emergency transportation
and care of the Borough of Hellertown and parts of Lower Saucon Township.
As of October 1, 1998, Dewey EMS took over EMS coverage of the whole Lower
Saucon Township, due to the closing of Se-Wy-Co EMS. The ambulance also
help aid the communities surrounding the Hellertown/Lower Saucon area,
including; Freemensburg Borough, Williams Township, Bethlehem Township,
all in Northampton County and Springfield Township, Bucks County.
The EMS staff is lead by 6 highly
trained personal within the department. The positions of Captain and Assistant
Captain were change at the company meeting that was held on Tuesday, October
26, 1999. They are:
