What was that clicking noise we heard? she inquired of the captured humanoid. I dont know, I dont go over there. All I have to do is bring in food and leave it at the crossway. I am not allowed on that side. Enacting justice and retribution in the only way that a paladin of St. Cuthbert could do (notwithstanding Killians other tendencies), Killian let the hobgoblin enjoy the fate that the gnolls and the rest of his ilk had experienced. Once again, Shenya was dispatched to head down yet another hallway that they had found. As she came to yet another turn in the carved out hallways, the stench became nearly overwhelming. Despite the fears evident in Shenyas face, the group pressed forward. Arris soon recognized the stench as that of a pair of ghouls, undead creatures of nasty disposition and a paralyzing touch. Quickly, he pulled his holy symbol out from beneath his armor and shone it forward with great strength of will and faith. By the power of Ehlonna, be gone from here! His prayers were heard, and the ghouls shrieked in horror, lowered their heads, and began to back away. Killian and Duh took advantage of the stunned creatures, and began to let their mace and axe speak for them. At first, when the two had met each other in the town square, Killian had reservations about having Duh join him and the others. But Killian knew that everyone has the potential of adding some value to each other, and saw that same potential in Duh. He also appreciated the immense size of the half-orc. The two of them were the exact opposite in fighting style. Duh fought with vigor, rampage, and for the sheer glory of it. Killian fought as a tactician, looking for weak spots and acting with deliberation. Their styles complimented each other, and the two of them realized that they were a significant fighting force to be reckoned with. Their opponents were soon coming to the same realization. With the power of Ehlonna shining through the holy symbol head aloft by Arris, there was little more that he could do to aid his friends. If I approach them any closer, I am afraid that the power of the holy symbol will no longer work, he warned to Killian and Duh. However, the ghouls were kept on the defensive, and soon became susceptible to the power of the two warriors. Each of them continued to parry and dodge each others swings, as the sharpened nails of the ghouls tried to rake through the tough armor of Killian. The ghoul that was engaged with Duh finally managed to break through the big warriors defenses, and Duh soon found himself frozen in position. He could do nothing more than move his eyes and see his imminent doom approaching. Without hesitation, and not worrying about keeping the ghouls in a defensive position, Arris ran forward, mace in hand, and pounded in the face of the ghoul just before the beast had the opportunity to grab Duhs arm. Although Duh could not speak, the sigh that he let out let Arris knew that he appreciated the help. The renewed vigor of Arris was enough to provide an opening for Killian, and he too dispatched the other undead.
