Sanders knocked on each door, then moved on to the next to indicate that breakfast was downstairs awaiting each of the new heroes of Duviks Pass. Their newfound status as the saviors of the town and the victors over the poisoned springs had allowed each of the members of the group to get their own rooms for the night. Shenya, more than anyone of course, appreciated the privacy. For the past 20 years, her traveling had forced her to stay in smaller rooms in various inns and other lodgings with Arris. Not that it was a problem being in the same room as her brother, but it just felt a little strange. So, it was a tremendous relieve, after all the fighting they had been through (as well as the wild party the previous night) that they were afforded the luxury of completely private quarters. Killian slept as soundly as he had in nearly 2 years. This was the first time in which he had felt as though he was finally able to truly atone for his atrocities. Sure, he had made restitution to many of the people he had affected while under the tutelage of Castig, but that repayment just didnt seem fulfilling. He sensed as though the anonymous recipients of his valor and bravery far outweighed the direct knowledge of the people he had hurt and attempted to restore. Sleep came swiftly, and was full of pleasant dreams. Only the smell of cooked potatoes and fresh biscuits had made it worthwhile to actually wake up. Duh snored. And it felt good. Duh had usually relegated himself to sleeping in the woods, as very few communities were wont to have a large orc-blooded beast in their public inn. However, he was a hero now, and the members of Duviks Pass would accept nothing less than Duh sleeping on a bed (well, actually, it took two beds to allow for the size, but that was of minimal concern). Arris, too, slept peacefully through the night. But to him, this was not anything new. Arris, whether indoors or out, had the keen ability to enter into such a contemplative state (what is considered sleep for elves) without any worries or concerns. He attributed most of that to his dedication and connection to Ehlonna. He had awoken before any of the others, and took a pre dawn stroll through the woods that had surrounded Duviks Pass. He thought that he had seen someone walking towards the stables, but assumed it was only the stableboy (despite the early hour). Everyone had clearly forgotten Teemto (as did the narrator), and so, they were quite surprised when Sanders, after sitting down with the group and inviting them to enjoy the fine potatoes prepared by Otis (the cook), asked Wheres your wizard friend?
