| A Step Towards Heat |
Today, Jack from Indianhead Community Action Agency came to the farm and did an inventory of what we need. The ball is rolling towards a furnace for the farm. He thinks they might be able to start the work in January. In the meantime, we're adequately warm living in one room with our little wood burner. The fact that there is absolutely NO insulation in the house works to our advantage. They will be able to insulate it better than new construction because of the techniques they use. We'll gladly be patient with gratitude for all the help we are getting. The next step will be meeting with the actual heating contractor to work out the details. I'm curious about what choices we will have. The old saying, "Beggars can't be choosers" comes to mind... We just want a warm home.
