RICHARD PETTY
Richard Petty is the undisputed KING OF NASCAR. With 200 carear victories and 7 championships, who could claim otherwise. Richard was the second generation driver from the racing legacy, the Petty family. Richard was a master of the highbanks of Daytone Internation Speedway. He holds the record for the most Daytona 500 victories with seven, a record that will likely stand forever. Richard ended his glorious carear in 1992 with his farewell tour. I am proud to say I got to witness the spring Martinsville race that year. Richard won his last race in 1984, at approprietly enough, Daytona in the FireCracker 400. President Ronald Regan was there to witness the victory.
The famous Petty Blue 1970 Plymouth Superbird. This car ran for only one year: it was deemed to fast for competition. This car is located in The Petty Racing Muesem.
