| Saintfield is a sleepy little town in County Down, near the administrative county capital of Downpatrick. With its well-defined High Street, '60s' architecture, and tranquil charm, it represented the ideal location for my folks to relocate to and they decided upon this delightful 4-bedroomed, double-garaged property in The Meadows (left). Much renovation and refurbishment work was undertaken and the results have been magnificent. . With its eclectic mix of style, exquisite ornamentation, plump heavy upholstered furniture,lay patterned carpets with a faded grandeur right through to its polished floorboards, there is a definite and, I would say, deliberate post-modern feel about 9 The Meadows. Putting art deco, Georgian and other styles firmly to one side, the modernist influence is ubiquitous, with a variety of sharply-defined furniture, lots of steel, glass tables, and bold primary colours. There's even a mini-bar in the kitchen. |
