My MAME Project.

First, I would like to thank those who have spent the time and effort to create some of the wonderful software required to create these machines.  I am a developer and understand what it takes to maintain energy around an idea to see it to reality.

I was addicted to video games very early on.  I am a thirty something who first was exposed to video games in the late 70's and early 80's. SPACE INVADERS, GALAGA, the home ATARI 2600, Pong the list goes on and on.  I made several attempts at writing my own games when I was 8 or 9 years old on the old TI 99-4A system.  That hooked me on programming and here I am.

Any parent thinking of building one of these will be instantly paid back when they see the excitement on their children's faces when you fire it up, or when they bring friends over.  The technology is relatively simple, the parts are easy to find, the hard part is finding the time.  Take your time, do it right, and you will be rewarded with something that can add a dimension to your Saturday night, family fun time.

Have fun and enjoy . . .

Chris

The reason this cabinet looks as if it is sitting in construction, is because it is.  I am adding onto the house and I decided to go ahead and add a arcade.  We have the old standard game room, pool table, darts, video games.  This room has MAME, foosball, air hockey, darts, original cocktail cabinet Pac Man, pinball machine and arcade lighting.  Takes me back and the kids love it. . . .  I could not wait for the construction to finish before I built the MAME.
