“Grille”, “Bremse”, “M82” six boats of 13.Vp.-Flottille supported by two squadrons of Navy Air force start operations against merchant ships in the area Hanöbucht – eastcoast of Sweden – Gotland – Oeland.

 

In the area of Danzig the town of Ceynowa is taken.

 

M-squadron attacks Heisternest-harbor in the morning.

11:00 british sub and aircraft attack german sub without success.

 

British a/c over northfriesische Islands in the morning.

 

Unidentified submarine off Borkum.

 

“Admiral Graf Spee” sinks the british steamer “Clement” 5051BRT 120sm southeast of Pernambuco (First ship to be sunk by AGS)

 

Merchant warfare in the Skagerrak – Kattegat stopped until now 49 steamers, 7 seized and sent to Kiel.

 

Random minesweeping operation of F.d.M.West with “Jaguar” and 6.T.-Flottille without result.

 

U-Boote:

U35 reports heavy traffic and heavy anti-sub forces in the area Portland – Casquets , Dieppe – Hastings.

U32, U53 heading for home.

U23 returned to Wilhelmshaven because of damaged fuel-pump.

U19 is ordered to return because of damaged “Brennstoffzelle”

U7 north of Utsire

U13 off Firth of Forth

U3 south of the Skagerrak

U16 off Skudesnaes.

U21, U22, U19 heading for home.

U10, U20 heading towards their operation area.

U36 arrives in Wilhelmshaven (2800 BRT sunk, seized swedish steamer “Algeria” 1540t)
