Open Space Technology
Developed by Harrison Owen in 1992, Open Space Technology is a meeting methodology that helps individuals, groups and communities become more effective in environments that are rapidly and constantly changing. It creates the conditions so that the maximum potential of the individual and the group to be realized. Open Space Technology captures the knowledge, experience and innovation in the group that is not captured through less open processes.
Open Space Technology is central to my facilitation practice. I have been trained by both Harrison Owen and Birgitt Williams, two of the leading practitioners of Open Space Technology. Since 1996 I have been using Open Space Technology with First Nations, Aboriginal organizations, governments and others.

In 2001, the international Open Space on Open Space conference will be held in Vancouver. This gathering will bring together Open Space Technology practitioners from around the world for two and a half days of discussions about Open Space, its uses, refinements and implications. Attendance is open to anyone who is interested in Open Space Technology, whether you are a seasoned practitioner or simply curious about a new way of meeting, leading and being in the 21st century.
