Coming Home Project Bio
It was started by a group of dedicated individuals in the summer of 1996. Began with 12 teens and 7 kids. The idea behind the program is to instill the lives of the teenagers all over to make a difference in the world. We also created activities where the teens work with different people of all ages, to discover a new confidence in themselves. With devoted limited resources to the project, the work is a sense of belonging with great self-esteem and friendship. Coming Home Project is in partnership with Family Services. Which provides the project with the abilities to reach out to more youth and serve them better.
The Coming Home Project is one of 25 programs offered by Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin.
Several components to Coming Home Project:
1. Outreach programming is offered in the community setting to provide easy access for youth.

2. Service programming asks that the youth in the program serve others through our ater school activities.

3. Creative program staff provides opportunities for the youth to be creative through our screen-printing, and other arts and crafts projects.

4. Employment program, where the staff seraches out job opportunities for the youth and work with them on how to complete a job application and developing interviewing skills.

5. Recreational activities and field trips are offered to youth.

6. Academic support, homework, and computer skills training are provided.
The majority of the youth served are Southeast Asians and HIspanics/Latino, but ALL youth are encouraged to participate.
