God has recently revealed to me that I had a spirit of pride. I do give all Glory and Honor to God for this revealing. I would like to share something with the young and the mature saints in the Lord of what God has put upon my heart.
The very portions of the spirit of pride that I see most common are rebellion, a flattering spirit and the spirit of thinking we know it all. No matter how mature or young in the Lord we are, we have to always maintain a teachable spirit and especially if we are young in the Lord. And I say "we" because we are in this together and personally I have not arrived. I truly believe that God does not allow us to "go through", get a breakthrough and sit on what we have just been through. But I believe that we are to share because we don't know who we are helping. Some may say or think that they are telling their business. But can I please say that when it comes to God we have no business. We are purposed for Him and He will use us to how He sees fit. There is no choice in the matter. Either you are in or you are out.
For the young saints in the Lord especially, we can get excited on how the Spirit of the Lord communicates with us. It's encouraging, but remain humble.
For the spiritually young and mature, we can offer up lip service and say that we are not moved by the title nor the calling. We can "say" that,"oh, I am just a vessel of God." But my question is do you mean it? Or are you trying to cover up the pride that has set in .
God knows if you really mean it or not. He knows if it is lip service and He knows if it is something that you are sincere about. God knows the heart and He will show you whether or not you mean what you say. We can fake it before man, but God knows the heart. It is the heart that He's after. He want's relationship with His people.
