"Know Me"
So many times we misuse the word "know" and especially when it comes to God. Scenario: We are introduced to a person at a church convention; later on run into them at a store or even see them from a distance. We will usually say,"ohhhh, I know him or her." In actuallity we really don't know that person. Yes, we recognize that person, but we don't know that person because we have not spent time with him or her to do so. When we enter into a relationship with someone whether it is friendship or getting to know our future spouse, we have to spend time and have communication with that person and after we have established that relationship it is an on going process. We are not able to have a successful relationship with anyone if we call them every now and then or call whenever we need something. If I was that person, I know I would feel used because they only call when they are in need or they want to talk to me when it is convenient for them and when they do talk it's all about them but, they say that they love me. Wouldn't you feel used? Okay! So, how do you think God feels when we only call when we need Him or talk to Him when it is convenient to us. There is a gospel song titled "Midnight" by Brent Jones and the T.P. Mobb and one of the verses says," You say that you love Me and can't live without Me, so why do you call Me only when you need Me....Don't wait til' midnight". If God has His hands in your life and you are saying "YES Lord", then guess what? The Spirit of the Lord is saying, "Not so!" He is not going to allow that type of behavior because He is wanting to use a people to prepare His church for His return which will be sooner than we think people of God. "We have to be obedient to what the Father says." He will allow you to figure out on your own on how you are going to do things, but if you fail to follow through He will give you a plan Himself. When He rebukes you and gives you a plan you will have to follow through. Trust me! I wouldn't tell you anything that I don't know or have not experienced myself. I had to experience that with my prayer life. I was telling different ones how I needed a prayer time. You know a time for just me and God (including prayer time and studying His Word). In other words, establishing my "quiet" time with Him. Yes I prayed and kept a praise in my heart. I was studying too,but only at work. Then my work load almost DOUBLED. Then, my studying was cut out. I had one of those prayer times where I was fitting God into a time where it was convenient to me. You know, one of those "fit in where you get in" prayers. I would say prayers through out the day, pray in my car and pray on Sundays before church service (sometimes) and Tuesdays (before Bible Study). Hey, just being real! And there is nothing wrong with that, but God wanted more than that. He wanted time with no distractions. But one day...... God rebuked me real good. I was in the beauty salon and my beautician wanted me to read this book written by E.J. Dabney (What It Means To Pray Through). The book is about this woman of God who was a true prayer warrior and Intercessor and I began to cry uncontrollably (quiet enough to where I knew it was God dealing with me. I was not loud because He wouldn't allow me to be. God is a God of order and He does not act unseemingly. 1Cor.14:40- Let all things be done decently and in order) about the 3rd chapter because the Spirit of the Lord began to speak to me and rebuke me right there under that dryer. And that is when He gave me my prayer plan. See Saints of God, it is time out for playing. It is time out for fashion shows and any other type of "DRAMA" you can think of. God is soon to return and God is raising up a remnant that is going to be obedient to Him and not be persuaded by the things of this world and neither compromise with the devil. It's time to be about the Father's business. For real!!! So I encourage you to get to know God in a real way. If you already have that relationship with the Father that I am seeking for, then AWESOME!! Now, ask the Lord to take you to deeper depths and higher heights in Him. And for those who are in a place where I was and is in the midst of being delivered from..... It's time to REPENT!!! Time to ask God to put a "seek" in your spirit. Stay encouraged in the Lord and build that relationship with God, the one He so desireth to have with His children...Because I don't know about you, but I want to be like the five wise women and be prepared for the Bridegroom because the Bridegroom is soon to come for His Bride! Will you be prepared?(Matt. 25:1-13)
Titus 1:16- They profess that they know God; but in works they deny [him], being abonimable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
