Day 12 - Muktinath 3800m to Jomsom 2710m |

After the epic day of climbing 1000m to the pass and then descending 1600m the town of Muktinath was a welcome respite. Hot showers and good food re-energized for the walk down. Still no cars and no roads on this side. |

The village of Kagbeni stands on the edge of Upper Mustang. This remote region stretches north to the Tibetan border. We, however, were to head south back towards civilization. |

|
|
|
On this side of the Annapurnas we get some great views of Dhaulagiri, at 8170m it is the fourth tallest mountain in the world. |

|
Poon Hill is a very popular place for viewing the sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himals. Thankfully the weather cleared and we were rewarded with these spectacular vistas. This is Machhapuchre, the home of the gods. |
