The name is TEDDY VERGARA
My friends have been telling me to take law but I always reply to them that I don't want to be eaten by the judicial system.
When I entered college, I looked at the world through black and white. My alma mater, the University of the Philippines dragged me to reality. It exposed me to the rotten system this country has from sporadic corruption in the government, to too much manifestation of personalistic interests of the politicians, to a never-ending imperialism, and to the disgusting unethical practices of some media practitioners whom the people only trust regarding news and information.
Back in high school, I looked up at some journalists whom I thought deserve my utmost respect but it only turned out into a nightmare when I discovered their real color through some reliable news and fast diffusion of information. I am always in despair watching my fellow Filipinos on television relying too much on these people by looking at them as their savior as if these people were dedicated in helping them by voicing out their sufferings to the government. However, I am optimistic that there are only a few of these media practitioners in the industry.
Most of the people see me as a jolly person. They may think that this site is only a piece of junk. Some have already discovered my serious side and they already knew what my plans are after graduation. I want to help my fellow Filipinos and being a public official is not the main option. Books on mass communication always say that the role of media is to serve the people and this is the bottom line of my plans as a journalist.
I MEAN SERIOUS JOURNALISM!
