Our Tokyo Trip 2002
In the morning, we decided to visit the pandas at the Ueno zoo. We took the Yamanote line to Ueno station and the zoo is just a short walk fromt he station exit. Unfortunately, the pandas were touring Mexico! But the zoo had many animals which the kids claimed that there were not found in the Mandai zoo. They were the aye-ayes, snowy owl, huge condor and tapika(?) This is a nice small zoo but with lots of interesting animals and there was a fixed route which kids could easily follow using the map.
we missed the pandas, they
went to Mexico! We had a sumptous Japanese lunch at a restaurant above the Ueno station.
Well, we had to visit Tokyo Sealife Park or also known as the aquarium at the Kasai Sealife Park, confusing, isn't it? This time, we had to take the Yamanote line to change into the Keiyo line at Tokyo station. This station is like a huge city underground. It's just amazing. We had to walk a long way from where we alight to board the next train.
at the entranceTokyo Sealife Park is a very nice aquarium, sort of similar to the one we visited at Monterey Bay in California. It's worth a visit, anytime, especially the doungnut-shaped Tuna tank.
