| The 180 acre farm of Alfred E. and Mary Rose Trudelle Emerson before they purchased it from Michael H. Meagher in 1927. The farmhouse on the left can be seen here (bottom of the page) as well. The Emersons raised four sons on this farm before Mary Rose sold it to Louis Hebert in 1944. A member of the Hebert family still owns the farm and hosted a Trudelle family reunion on July 27, 1996. "Shown here are the House on the hill and the farm below. At the right of the House is the Garage (partially hidden by trees). The photograph was taken when the Farm belonged to Michael H. Meagher, that is, prior to its purchase by Alfred Emerson in 1927. The two main doors of the Barn are open; the one on the left led into the Horse Barn, but on the right led into the Cow Barn (note the old treadle-operated axe sharpener to the left of the door). At the far right is a closed door leading into the Milk House. The two concrete Silos were left out of this photo. It appears there are no concrete steps leading up the hill from the Barn to the House, only a dirt path." |
