"Shown here are the House on the hill and the farm below. At the right of the House is the Garage (partially hidden by trees). The photograph was taken when the Farm belonged to Michael H. Meagher, that is, prior to its purchase by Alfred Emerson in 1927. The two main doors of the Barn are open; the one on the left led into the Horse Barn, but on the right led into the Cow Barn (note the old treadle-operated axe sharpener to the left of the door). At the far right is a closed door leading into the Milk House. The two concrete Silos were left out of this photo. It appears there are no concrete steps leading up the hill from the Barn to the House, only a dirt path."
