THOMAS MORGAN, 46, RESIDENT OF HELENA FOR 35 YEARS, DIES


Thomas J. Morgan, 46, a resident of Helena for the last 35 years, died yesterday at his home at 1433 Walnut street, following an illness of several days. Death was due to pneumonia, attending physicians said.

A hardrock miner by trade, Mr. Morgan had come to Helena from his native state, South Dakota, 35 years ago, and had worked in mines throughout the Helena district. He lately had been employed at rehabilitation work in the city.

Besides his widow, Alta Morgan, he is survived by a son, Howard, of Helena, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert James of El Paso, Texas; two brothers, William Morgan of Helena and Frank Morgan of Metaline, Wash., and three sisters, Mrs. William Deborde of Helena, Mrs. Harry Maxwell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Katherine Dix of Alberta, Canada.

The body has been taken to the Opp and Conrad funeral home, where Rosary will be said tonight at 8 o'clock.

Funeral services will be conducted from St. Mary's church Saturday morning at 9:30, and burial will be in Resurrection cemetery.
