This website is devoted to the history and genealogy of Debordes in America, no matter how the name is spelled: Debord, Deborde, Deboard, DeBorde, Debour, Dubourd, etc.
Debordes have been in America since the 1600s and have settled in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states. The history of our family is the history of our country, and we have contributed greatly to making it what it is today.
The active and inactive links at the left indicate the kind of material I'd like to see incorporated into this website. Other categories could be added as we go along. I'll be adding to the site continually and contacting other Debordes to share information and photos.
I'll be starting with my own branch, the descendents of Albert and Ella Deborde, then branching out to the descendents of Albert's father John and then his grandfather Solomon. However, I'm happy to incorporate information about Deborde families that don't descend from Solomon since there is a good chance that several of those large groups are related somehow.
Much of this information comes from Raymond Gross and Kenneth Jones. Please e-mail me if you want to become involved in this project by sharing photos, stories, family trees, documents, census information, or anything else you feel relates to the Deborde family. I'm waiting to hear from you!
