Solomon T. Deborde, Pioneer of Montana, Passed Away


Solomon T. Deborde, an old time resdient of Montana, died Sunday at the home of his son, Paul in Townsend. The funeral was held Wednesday at 2 o'clock from the Methodist church, Rev. L. L. Ortmayer officiating. Burial was made in the family lot in Duck creek cemetery.

Mr. Deborde came to Montana in 1879, following the route of the early settlers, coming up the river by steamboat to Fort Benton. Since then he has lived in and around Helena and Townsend taking an active interest in mining and farming until recently.

His wife died about eight years ago. Seven children are left by the death of their father. They are Paul; Walter of Helena valley; George of East Helena; Mrs. Welsh and Mrs. West of Washington; Mrs. Charles Johnson of Butte and Mrs. Charlotte Burgess of Butte.
