A. F. Deborde, A Pioneer, Dies


Albert F. Deborde, an aged miner and prospector, died early yesterday morning at his residence, 112 Chaucer Street. Funeral services will be held Monday from the residence, and details will be announced later. Interment will be at York. Herman and Company have charge of arrangements.

Mr. Deborde was born in Wisconsin [sic] and was 70 years of age. For many years he had been engaged in mining and prospecting in the York district, but recently was forced to abandon this work and come to Helena for medical treatment. He is survived by a wife and several sons, all of whom live in Helena or vicinity [sic].


A further notice appeared Sunday, June 2, 1918 in the paper. In addition to the above information, it noted that the services were at 11:30 at the residence. It said that he died at 2:00 Friday morning of heart failure. It stated, correctly, that he was born in Galena, Illinois, January 22, 1848, came to Montana in 1885 and lived at York and vicinity all but the last three years.
