My Testimony of Faith and Biography

I am a Christian. I use both the NIV and the KJV as my Bible versiones. I believe that God sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for my sins. God knew in the beginning that I would be saved, and be part of His kingdom, the Body of Christ. There is a Fountain filled with Blood where sinners can plunge, to receive forgivenness of their sins, and be washed and cleansed: that Fountain is Jesus Christ. My record of sins have been forgiven. . Jesus Christ is my Shepherd. He is the Chief Shepherd of Israel, the world, and will take care of you, if you belong to His Flock. Jesus is the Rock of my Salvation. I believe in the security I have in Jesus Christ, and that the Holy Spirit is my counselor, teacher. I believe that one day Jesus will come again, and raise me from the dead, and I will be in heaven, enjoying everlasting life with Jesus Christ and the Saints. During the resurrection of our bodies, our bodies will be changed in a twinkling of the eye. Our bodies will be changed, and will be like Jesus Christ's glorified body.

I was born in a Christian family in October, 1957. My father was a minister in the Presbyterian church, and a professor of church history at the Reformed Theological Seminary. As a child, I went through open heart surgery because of having fellot of tetrology. Ever since childhood, I've had many complications. I enjoyed being in the school band, playing alto saxophone; participating as a journalist in the school newspapers; learning Spanish; taking part of the Young Republicans in our area; and enjoyed a little chess. My hobbies are collecting autographs, stamps, and post cards. I went through school, and when I attended Mississippi State University, I finally grew up and learned to trust in Jesus and in God as Lord and Savior.

I became part of the Reformed University Ministries at Mississippi State University, and met a lot of great Christian students in that group. A lot of them, were highly knowledgeable in theology, far more, than me. And I learned a lot in that group. One person was a friend of mine who was nicked named "5 Point Charley". While I was at MSU, I went to the Intervarsity Fellowship meeting in 1980.

After graduating from MSU, I attended Reformed Theological Seminary for one year. I found out through that experience, that seminary was not my calling. I left seminary, and went into offset printing. I am now a member of the Lakeside Presbyterian Church (Evangelica Presbyterian Church EPC) I am serving as the church librarian, also on the Fellowship and Christian Educational committees.

I have faced a lot of health problems. When I was 6 years old, I had to have an open heart surgery that was called "Baby Blue". I've also developed Type 1 Diabetes when I was 11 years old. I've had diabetes for over 20 years now, which has developed a lot of complications, including kidney damage, cataracts, and nerve damage due to circulation problems. I was on dialysis for one and a half years, and now because of prayer and God's help, I received a kidney-pancreas transplant. I praise God that I do not have to take insulin any more, nor go through four hours of dialysis three times a week. You can read about my transplant experience here: My KPTX Experience.
