Upon meeting, the recognition was clear...
...we have met before...
Chapter 1: Memory Rebourne In You

Explanation...

Cale:
Environment, I've documented each and every strain
To lift myself apart from all my images of pain
In any case in unaware of any close behind
There isn't but a whisper of what was once unkind

A long and lost sense of depth and in self
There hasn't been time that's ever passed this way
If any moment, any feeling, any blink or flash untrue
It would take apart that very moment, and I'd never have met you

This fleeting, falling feeling that brings a faded glance
A memory of you that only at first held me entranced
I soon awoke to the depictions that were falsified by me
Accepted, then excepted... once the only way to see

Lost in the blinking lights of my own perserverance
This shape and space have become warm
A length unmeasured, a time unrun
A wave unridded and hidden from sun

It's true I recall, I recollect, yes I know you
It's been too long... at least for me
Behind the glass of semi-permanence
I've lost the reflection... and had shattered all but boundaries
I return from my own sentence
If there ever was redemption
And shattered every boundary... and smile

Meer:
Into the darkest ages we once were one, not two
Do you recall Merestes, the being old and new?
How you with words of careless and craving tones of grey
Asked for once in darkness, a red light to portray?

How within lost embraces, fate turned against us all
Not of its own making, but rather of our fall?
How inside seas of shadows
I lied in silent wake
And ravished with rememberance
What blind paths would forsake?
