Bamboo ware is one of the most famous and popular handcrafts in Sichuan, China. Since bamboo is a local material and been used as a product primary material, even for building structures, since thousands of years ago, it has become a very unique local craft industry.
Bamboo is also the precious food of that rare animal, the Grand Panda. So, in Sichuan, there is the world's biggest natural panda reserve.
When using bamboo mixed with other materials, like porcelain or china, it can make marvellous pieces, such as, bamboo and porcelain vases, tea sets, etc.. Bamboo ornaments are beautiful and decorative. Local materials and labour makes the products reasonably cheap, easy to buy and transport. Below, I show a few fine examples of this delicate craftwork.
