This has to be one of the most overlooked albums in history. The ironically named "Breakdown in Paradise" is a definite lost classic. Why? Because at the time this album came out, Mushroom Records, the band's label, was going bankrupt. As a result, the album got almost no promotion and faded fast. On the heels of "Dreams, Dreams, Dreams" and "Lights From the Valley," one would assume the band would have knocked the ball out of the park with this one. They did - but no one was there to give them the support they needed. So, without industry support, the band toured without anyone knowing a new album had come out. Amazing.
A much harder album than its predecessor, "Breakdown in Paradise" showcased such trademark songs as "Communication Breakdown (no relation to Led Zeppelin's), "Trial by Fire," "148 Heavy" and "Road to Paradise". The band line up consisted of Bill, Brian, Ab Bryant, John Roles and Rick Taylor.
This was the band's last album with Mushroom Records; but it brought together Bill, Brian and Ab, who would continue in this musical direction to creat the classic "Wanna Be a Star" and "Opus X" albums.
