When the Bible tells us not to love the world, of course, God is not talking about the physical world. That would be foolishness for it is God's own creation and it is beautiful. The physical world shows the handiwork of God and how could we not love what our Savior has created and given unto us to enjoy.
But what God tells us not to love is the corrupted attitudes and actions of the people that live in this world.  Because of sin our natural desires are opposite to the very nature of God and unless we seek for God's ways and live by them our natural man will crave after his own pleasures at the expense of everything else.
<<   Lesson 3 B 1   >>
We should not love those attitudes whether in ourselves or in others.  We should do all we can to escape these things and of course, as Christians we overcome the world only by Gods work of grace in us and through faith.  I John 5:4  For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the worldour faith. (5) Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
We should be careful not to judge and condemn the people of the world for these attitudes because that is not our purpose for being here.  Even Jesus did not condemn them but had compassion for them.  He came to this world to seek and to save them, and that is what our goal ought to be also.  Jesus said in John 12:47 says, If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him, for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.
If the direction that we are heading is towards righteousness then we must come out of all evil.  Evil is summed up in I John 2:15-16
