<< Lesson 1 A 5   >>
It takes humility to accept that God is God and that He has the right to form us and make us just as He desires.  Because of sin, "I know better than God" is an attitude that the human soul must wrestle with all of our lives.
Peace and Joy are the result of accepting with thankfulness the way that God has formed and designed us.  It is not how I look that is important but do I accept with gatefulness how I look.  In Heaven we will all be beautiful for all eternity, but for the few years that we are on this earth are we willing to accept the way we are designed by God for the life ministry that He has for us.
The problem is that we compare ourselves with others and without having all the facts we somehow think that we have been cheated when we see what others have that we don't.  Since we know that God is supreme in what He does it can make us question whether He is good in all that He does.  Doubting God's lovingkindness can be devastating to the Christian life.
Accepting The Picture God Is Painting For Me
Psalm 139: 13 -14
For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb.   I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
How I look, where I was born, who are my relatives, when I was born, are some of the things that we have no control over.  God has designed and created us, not for our benefit, but for His.  Sometimes our pride makes accepting things we can't change difficult. We think if we could design ourselves and place ourselves where we want we could do better.
1. David wrote these beautiful words in Psalm 139 because he understood just how much God delights to form each one of us for His own glory.
2.  In God's eyes we are all beautiful for we are His creation.
3.  The important thing is not what is on the outside of us, but what is in our hearts.  Men look on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart.
4.  We must recognize that we do not know everything and we do not know why God has made us as He has.  One day we will find out
Ecc 11:5
Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things.
God designs each one of us just as He desires.
Lets continue
Psalm 139: 13 -14
For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb.   I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
Ecc 11:5
Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things.
Wow!  God made me just the way I am!
