About Our After-School Program

Jarobi painting at Children & ArtWhy Children and Art?

Children learn how to create art, look at art, build knowledge of artists and materials, and understand how and why art is created.

Classes are taught by artists who are certified teachers and art or museum educators.

Classes are fun, well rounded, clearly focused, and designed to make the process and appreciation of art accessible through all stages of life.

Children and Art classes are nurturing, non-competitive, and a place for discovering tools of expression and freedom to explore new ideas and concepts. Children tap into the wells of their imagination and creativity, build critical thinking skills, and expand their awareness of the world around them.

If you are looking for art classes after school that are unique, fun, and enriching for your children, you’ve found it all in Children and Art. To see a sample of what we do in our program, take a look at a lesson plan.

Classes meet one day a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays) from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. We are located on the Upper West Side. For INFORMATION ABOUT UPCOMING SESSIONS, please click here.

If you are interested in enrolling or would like more information, please contact Alexandra Martin via via email at [email protected]. or click on the Contact Us page.
