| JAPANESE TEACHERS: Please remember the AET probably will not know how to do many things in Japan and needs your help. Some key points and suggestions: The AET is your assistant and a freshman employee. Please ask the AET to change lessons if you don't like them. Please tell the AET if he/she has broken school rules. Please ask the AET to help you with any extra work, even if it is not directly related to the classroom or even if you do not team-teach with the AET. If you are the AET's immediate supervisor: Please also give work feedback to the AET at least once a year. During this time, tell him/her about his good and bad teaching/work points. This information will help the AET improve his/her skills and be more useful to Chigusa SHS. **Also, please ask the AET to maintain or update this Web site OR find another way to give information to future AETs.** _____________________________________________________ When AET first arrives, please help him/her get: 1. hanko/inkan; 2. alien registration card (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ITEM, BECAUSE THE JET WILL NEED IT TO GET A BANK ACCOUNT AND CELL PHONE); 3. a bank account; 4. utilities (electricity, water, gas); 5. Internet/phone service If necessary, please drive AET or make necessary phone calls for him/her. _____________________________________________________ Throughout the year, please try to tell the AET about: 1. Monthly school schedules, especially when classes are re-arranged or cancelled; 2. Term examination schedules; 3. Upcoming events, including physical examinations, earthquake drills, and staff picture. _____________________________________________________ At the end of AET's stay, please help him/her: 1. Cancel bank account; 2. Cancel utilities and phone/Internet bills; 3. Receive refund from Japanese pension fund; 4. Receive a paper showing how much money s/he earned while at your school. (Some countries require this for income-tax reports.) |
