Episode Three

Scene 1
Episode 3 opens with Tonya explaining how she wants to get to know the roommates, but she feels like an outcast. Tonya goes to a club with the roommates, but leaves within the hour after getting there. Chris says that Tonya is Really high maintenance. The next morning everyone but Chris is there. They find a box on their front door with a note saying they are going to be lifeguards. Caras fist thought was Its great, Im going to be on the beach. The note says that they need a birth certificate, but Tonya doesnt have one because she was a foster child. They all go out to the DNV to get a license for Tonya, but that also requires a birth certificate. This makes Tonya feel different. Chris says Hes feels for Tonya, its not sympathy, he just feels for her. The next morning the roommates head out to the lifeguard training at North Avenue Beach. Later while they are there, they have to swim, but Tonya cant do it because She has a Kidney infection. Tonya gives up, and gets out of the water. Cara also has trouble swimming, and gets upset with the lifeguard trainers. She ends up getting into a catfight with the trainers about how to swim. They try explaining to her that It isnt their responsibility to teach her how to swim.
Scene 2
Scene two opens with Cara apologizing to the lifeguard trainers. She apologizes and goes on with her day. Tonya talks to the lifeguard trainers about her kidney infection, and they tell her Today is the only day to swim, no exceptions. Tonya ends up giving up with the job. Later that day, the cast (minus Tonya) is eating at a sushi bar. They are all complaining about Tonya, and how much she wines. They just want her to get over it. Cara explains how she thinks she exaggerates with her illness. The next day Tonya stays home and the roommates go to lifeguard training. Tonya calls her boyfriend, Justin, and tells him that she is coming home to Walla Walla for a couple of days to see a doctor. At lifeguard training the other roommates learn CPR. The roommates all pass CPR. Later that day, Cara receives a letter from her father. In the letter he tells her how excited he is about her training to be a lifeguard.
Scene 3
This scene opens with Tonya complaining about her Kidney again. She tells the cast she is going home for a couple days. Aneesa thinks she wants to go home because she is homesick, and it has nothing to do with her kidney. Later that day, the roommates are at lifeguard training again. They have to swim the 200 in less than three minutes and thirty seconds. The first three people to swim are Keri, Kyle, and Cara. Halfway through, Cara gives up. Kyle and Keri both pass and become lifeguards. The next two people to swim are Theo and Aneesa. Aneesa and Theo both fail, and dont become lifeguards. Chris is the last one to swim, and makes it right at three minutes and thirty seconds. So that makes three people out of the seven roommates to actually become lifeguards, Chris, Kyle, and Keri. Cara begins to cry because she didnt want to let her father down and did. She feels there was too much pressure on her. Later that day, Tonya begins packing her bags to leave. She begins crying because she cant pull her bags up the stairs. She screams I hate this place. Tonya calls the roommates for a ride to the airport, but they lie to her and tell them they are too far away. They all celebrate that they dont have to pick her up. Tonya then begins crying because she cant find a taxi. A neighbor, Suzanne, then picks her up and takes her to the airport.
