Hello Hokies!
I apologize for being out of touch lately. I recently moved and have been unpacking for what seems like forever. Here are a few notes to update the group:
New Hokie Picnic:
Thanks again to all of those who came out to our picnic in July. We had 5 new Hokie Freshmen and their families show up and meet/greet with over 25 alumni. Thanks again--I think we sent off our area new Hokies with a good start!
Hokie Football:
Well, the Hokies are off to a good start, but the heavy games start this week with the Texas A&M game on Thursday, Sept. 18th starting at 6:30 PM on ESPN.
Please plan on joining us at our new viewing locations:
For Downtowners, we have a Hokie bar owner (Troy Fujimura) who has offered to support our viewing parties. Thanks to Troy for inviting us to his location!!!!

For suburbanites, we have found a new location that hopefully will accomodate more folks.

If you plan on attending this Thursday at the Foundry location, please let me know. I'd like to give the bar an approximate count so we make sure we have seating all together.

Monthly Planning Meetings:
We've had a short respite on monthly planning meetings this summer. The next meeting will be held on Sunday, October 12th at 1:00 pm. Location is still TBD. Please advise if you will be able to attend.
And one last note...
I would like to congratulate the many folks who have helped out with the Chicago Chapter of the VT Alumni Association. At the VTAA Summer Meeting held at the end of August, our chapter was voted the Most Improved Chapter. This is a direct reflection on the large amount of support and volunteerism that we've had over the last year. Thanks for all of your help and let's work to make the next year even better!!!
