She addressed envelopes, and once she was in New York, mailed in the payments. The night after she got back, Jay Z called her and asked her out to eat. She felt obligated to accept when she really wanted to call Lindell and they went to a fancy Italian restaurant. He gave her another present. It was a necklace. "wow�" she said in awe. "Like it?" Jay Z asked. "Yeah�Oh my God�" she said. "This must have costed�oh my God�I really don't deserve this," "Of course you do," Jay Z said. He leaned across the table and kissed her. "You deserve much more than this," "Aww�that's really sweet," she said. "I just don't know if I�" "If you what?" Jay Z asked. "I don't think that I deserve it. I feel like I've been untrue to you," she said. "What do you mean?" Jay Z said. "I saw my ex�" Beyonce said. "And�I went over to his house one night�" "Did you sleep with him?" Jay Z asked. "No!" Beyonce said. "What did you do?" Jay Z said. "Nothin actually�I just went to his house, and we talked and had a good time�we didn't kiss or anything�" Beyonce said. "Ok�what else?" Jay Z asked. "Nothin else, I just think that�" she began. "That you wanna be with him again?" Jay Z said. "No�I just thought that if something like this happened, then we should tell each other. I want my relationship with you to be very open." She said. "Oh�" Jay Z said. "Yeah�so if somethin like this happens with you�then you can tell me, and�I wont get mad." She said. "So I shouldn't get mad at you for basically�seeing another guy when you're my girl?" Beyonce opened her mouth to say something but he cut her off. "I ain't gon get mad now. But I don't want you to see him again. I don't want you to talk to him, I don't want him callin you, or writin you, or nothin." Jay Z said. He seemed mad. "He's just my friend, and when�" she stopped. "And when what?" Jay Z said. "Nothing," Beyonce said. "Tell me," Jay Z said. "No. It's not important," Beyonce said. "Yes it is." Jay Z said. "No�it's not." Beyonce argued. "Fine. So much for the open relationship." Jay Z said. Beyonce didn't say anything. They didn't speak when he took her back to her suite.
