Chapter 26: Dependence

A week had passed now. Destiny's Child had to go on their world tour. On their walk, Michelle had convinced Lindell to go on tour with them as part of the crew. He was one of the people backstage along with Tina and Mathew who helped the girls when they had to do quick costume changes. Lindell couldn't say no because he was in bad need of a job.

Beyonce had given up trying to apologize. She and Lindell weren't talking to each other anymore. He was on a different tour bus than Beyonce and they only saw eachother when they had to. She felt so bad about what had happened and about losing the ring. But they were all the way in Britain now and there was nothing she could do about it. Now instead of depending on Lindell, she depended on something else. In her tour request form she requested champagne and alchoholic drinks. Her family didn't aprove of it, and secretly neither did Lindell. But it hadn't done any harm to her yet so they didnt bother her about it. Every one knew what she was going through now was tough, and the others tried not to interfere.

"It's just something people in relationships go through, theres always a downside to everything. They'll get over it," Michelle said.

Kelly thought otherwise. She thought that what was happening to Beyonce now was only hurting her. She wanted to tell her she'd given the ring to Lindell but Solange told her not to. Sometimes Beyonce didn't go to sleep with they were in a city for more than two days. They stayed in hotel rooms and Beyonce's light didn't go off until late. Lindell knew. He was in a different room than her, and sometimes he wanted to go knock on her door and try to make up with her. He'd just sit stand outside her door and listen to her pour the drinks and drink them alone. He listened to her sigh and put the drinks away and turn out the light at around 3 in the morning and then get in bed. Then he'd leave to his room and fall asleep thinking about her.

It was no wonder she seemed tired all the time. During the soundchecks and rehearsals. But when she got on stage energy came from somewhere, and she always put on a great show. But when she was off stage, the bags returned under her eyes, and she went back to dressing room or hotel room (depending on the time of the day) to drink. One night Tina came to talk to her. It was 1 AM after Beyonce has taken off her stage makeup. she knocked on the door.

"Yes?" Beyonce replied from inside.

"Can I come in baby," Tina asked.

Beyonce opened the door. "Yeah sure Momma, what's up?"

"Drinkin B? I know you're an adult but I'm still your Momma...and dealin with your problems with alcohol--baby I'm worried about you....doin what you doin aint safe,"

"Momma, it's ok. I'm fine. I'll be fine, you don't have to worry," Beyonce assured her.

"You just...be careful," Tina said.

"I will," Beyonce said. She smiled.

They hugged, and Tina left.
