Chapter 13
Shianne finally pulled herself away from the pictures and documents enough to realize it was nearly 6pm. She put all of the documents in the folder and picked it up, heading into the room that had a safe in it. She deposited the folder in the safe and locked it up tight before walking into the kitchen to find Christian watching the small television that was set up in there. She walked behind him and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing his ear gently. After a few moments of hugging Christian rose to his feet, took Shiannes arm in his and together they walked out of the house, locking the door behind them.
The headed down the street and stopped when they came in front of a small cafe. It was an older cafe but they both loved it dearly. After finding a seat that was perfect they sat down and waited for a waitress or waiter to walk over to them. While waiting not a word was spoken between the two, just silent glances at each other as well as hidden smiles and secret winking. Finally a waitress walked over and handed them a menu so that they could order. After ordering and while waiting they began to discuss the future. Christian knew this was a touchy subject but he couldnt help but be curious. As he feared, Shianne was silent for a while before finally parting her lips to speak.
Actually Christian.. She began slowly as if searching perfectly for her words. Ive been thinking about the future a lot lately. Ive made some decisions and no matter what happens, I want to have a future with you. I just hope I have my brother and sister back as well.. What about you?
Christian smiled and leaned back in the chair. I want a future with you more than anything in the world Shianne, but I also want to get back your brother and sister and I know deep down that we will.
The waitress brought out their food and slowly they each began to eat until they were full. After paying the bill the two of them walked out and down the street heading towards the ice cream shop which was about five blocks from the cafe. They each grabbed an ice cream cone and sat down on a bench, watching as people hurried to and fro. As Shianne leaned against Christian she couldnt help but notice a couple of people standing across the street from them. She quickly finished her ice cream cone and leaned forward, pretending to be saying something witty to Christian when instead she was telling him what he saw. As if on cue he began to laugh, faking like she said something funny. The people that had been standing on the other side of the street moved down an alley and Shianne got up after noticing a piece of paper left on the sidewalk. The two of them ran over to the piece of paper and she scrambled to open it and read it quickly.
::You know who this is for. You will come, just the two of you to 122 S. Seneca Road. If you bring any cops, you know what will happen. Its time to settle this once in for all. No more running. Not everyone will walk away from this alive. It will be up to you to make the right decisions. Come in an hour.::
Shianne glanced at Christian who in turn glanced at her. They both knew what this meant and without another world headed towards home to prepare themselves for the battle that was nearing. Shianne gripped the note tightly and didnt let go of it until they reached home. Christian went into the bedroom he had been using to change into something more appropriate for a battle and Shianne walked numbly into her bedroom and stood in front of her closet staring blankly.
Christian pulled on a pair of jeans with a black wife-beater that fit snuggly to his body. Over that he reached into the closet and pulled out his black jacket and laid it over his arms, waiting until he had weapons before putting it on. Frowning he pulled on a pair of black army combat type boots and pulled a pair of sunglasses on the top of his head. He headed out of the room and down to the study room where they kept all the weapons locked up and hidden where no one but the two of them could get to them. He remained standing, waiting for Shianne to come down before he started pulling out weapons.
Shianne stared forever until finally slipping out of her red sundress, letting it drop to the ground with a light thud. Reaching into her closet she pulled out a fiery red tank top, black pants and her black boots. Tossing them on the bed she reached in once again and pulled out her lexan armor. Stepping over to her bed she slipped first into the lexan armor and t hen into the black pants and finally pulled on her red tank top. She grabbed the sunglasses off the top of her nightstand and slipped them on. The jacket she was going to be wearing was downstairs waiting in the study room. She reached in and grabbed another lexan suit, the extra one she had made for her and walks downstairs to Christian handing it to him.
Put this on either under or over your clothes. Its lexan armor and I am making you wear it. She sighed softly and made her way into the study room. She keyed in the code into a keypad beside an old painting and stepped back as the mantle disappeared while four shelves expanded outwards. She stepped up to the shelves and glanced at the weapons, trying to figure out what to take. A few minutes later Christian joined her and also thought about what to take.
She slipped on a double gun holster, the back straps crossing in the back. The back of the straps had two sheathes on them for katanas or regular swords or even a staff. In the right holster she slipped an already loaded 45 mag and in the left she slipped a 9mm. She attached two ankle sheathes and slipped daggers inside of these. She slid a silver bladed double-edged sword with five jewels in the hilt of the sword representing her family into the sheathe she had placed on her left hip. Into the two sheathes on her back she slid the two halves of her staff that when pulled out and snapped together held the same strength of a regular staff. Over the weapons she slipped on her coat and glanced to Christian while he made his choices.
After thinking for a while Christian grabbed a double gun holster, slipping over his shoulders. In the right holster he slid an already loaded 45 glock and a .357 desert eagle into the left holster. Attaching a sheathe around his right leg he slid a dagger into it and finally pulled an ammo belt around his waist, slipping in ammo for all four of the guns. Thinking twice he slipped a sword into a sheathe placed on his left hip. Over the gun holster he slipped on his jacket and nodded at Shianne signaling he was ready.
Wordlessly the two of them locked the weapons back up and walked out of the house, locking it behind them. As they stepped outdoors, they both reached up and pulled down the sunglasses over their eyes before heading down the street. They had time left over, just enough to get them to Seneca Road before the deadline was up. They walked from building to building on Seneca Road until they finally reached 122.
Here goes nothing... Shianne whispered, a look of fear running across her face before being replaced by determination.
Were going to will and get them back Shi.. Christian whispered to her before stepping forward, his fingers laced with hers.
