Minutes September 10, 2007
The meeting was called to order at 7:05pm.  A motion was made to have the minutes accepted, seconded, and approved.

Attendance:
A total of 28 parents and 2 students were in attendance, representing 27 students.

Welcome:
Robert Wingo welcomed all the new faces attending.

Treasurers Report:
Christie Pierson reported that we presently have a combined total of $30,522.43 in all accounts.  A payout of $250 for a student scholarship and a deposit of $92.00 from clothing sales are included in this amount.

Student Accounts
Heidi Dukes reported $27,897.04 in our student accounts.  Individual student account balances are posted in the band room at the high school and a copy will also be posted at the 9th grade campus.

Directors Report
Barry Eli reported how pleased he was with the band performance at the 1st football game of the season.  He was proud of the students behavior in the stands and the senior leadership that was displayed.  The football coach and assistant were also pleased with the energy and support that the band provided.
The band will be leaving CHHS at 5:30 on September 14th for the game at Delmar.  There will be 3 buses available and chaperones are welcome.  Upon returning to the school, the students must help unload the equipment trailer.  Barry will also mention to the band members that their uniform jackets can be removed while in the stands as long as everyone wears a plain white t-shirt.
The band trip this year will be to Cleveland, Ohio from May 15th through May 1st.  The estimated cost is between $500 and $600.  An itinerary and payment schedule will be available soon.  Once the payment schedule is given, any student who has not paid in full before the deadline will be unable to attend.

Gail Kelso apologized for not being able to attend last year due to other commitments.  She will make every effort to attend most meetings this year.  There are 85 choir members; however they are not as active as the band.  She would like to include the choir members in the fundraiser activities.  The choir, along with the cheerleaders, is working on words to accompany the fight song.  Gail and Barry will assist with the wording.  The choir will perform at the 2 home football games this year, and has also been asked to perform at a pep rally for the 1st time ever.  The winter concert will be combined with the band on December 17th at 7:00 p.m.

Presidents Report
Robert Wingo welcomed Gail back to the music booster meetings.  It is wonderful to see the turnout of parents present.  Robert also reported how nice it is to see Barry Eli so relaxed.  Thank You to Alan Bales for a good job with the announcing, Darrell Dukes and all the parents who assisted with the loading, transportation and unpacking of the equipment, and also to P.J. Hopkins and Heidi Dukes for coordinating the placement and removal of the flumes.

Old Business

Joe Corbis Fundraiser Carol Moore reported that the Joe Corbis fundraiser has started.  All students should have received the packet of information.  If not, there are boxes with extras available at the high school and 9th grade campus.  The fundraiser ends on September 21st and delivery will be on October 9th.  Christie Pierson will help with sorting the orders; however, additional volunteers are needed.  The order will be delivered to the high school at approximately noon and will need to be separated and ready for parent/student pick-up starting at 3:00.  All orders must be picked up on October 9th between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Students participating in this fundraiser will see between a 35%-40% profit deposited directly into their individual student account.  Please contact Carol Moore with any questions.

Chicken Bar-B-Que/Car Wash:
Mr. Gooding has scheduled a chicken bar-b-que for Saturday, September 29th at the pavilion in Lewes.  He will co-ordinate with Robert Wingo for the chicken and grill.  Don and Starr Leavel will arrange a car wash to coincide with the bar-b-que.  Students working the car wash will earn money into their student accounts and those working the bar-b-que will earn volunteer hours.
