Minutes October 9, 2006
The meeting was brought to order at 7:08pm.  A motion was made for the minutes to be accepted, seconded, and approved.

Student Accounts
Connie Holdridge reported that all funds have been received from the Joe Corbis fundraiser which did earn $4,447.50.  However, it has not yet been posted to the students accounts.  Next months report will reflect that.

Directors Report
Due to a scheduling conflict the band will not be traveling to this Fridays game against Howard to be held at Wesley Campus in Dover.  Originally the game was scheduled for Saturday, but was rescheduled for Friday.  Mr. Eli is unable to attend Fridays game.
The Jazz Band will be traveling to Rehoboth Elementary for an instructional demonstration and as a kick off to the jazz fest celebration.  Additionally, the Jazz Band will be performing at Baywoods on Sunday afternoon, on the Green beginning promptly at 5pm and playing till dark.
The Firemans Parade originally scheduled for November 5th at 1pm in Rehoboth has been moved to a tentative status.  Mr. Eli will advise all students later this week if they will be required to march.  The Fireman have not confirmed this performance.

Spring Trip
There are two trips being pursued at the present time, both would leave on Thursday May 3rd, and return on Sunday May 6th.  The first is to Toronto, Canada, which would include a stop off at Niagara Falls.  This trip would include an adjudicated event on Friday, a parade on Saturday, and finishing with an amusement park and possibly a tour of CNN.  The trip to Boston will also include an adjudicated performance, tickets to see The Blue Man Group, and if the Red Soxs are playing away - a tour of Fenway Park could be included.  No tickets are available if they are home. The key factor determining which trip will be booked is the transportation prices.  However, Mr. Eli did emphasis that it was important to note that if more than 10% drop out from the original number given, then an increase in the overall trip price will be inevitabl. Therefore only those students seriously interested in traveling should submit their names.

Presidents Report

Robert Wingo congratulated the band on their performances at all of the football games to date.  Not only have their musical performances been great but so has their personal performance and behavior in the stands.  However, should any parent feel a need to address an issue of a member(s) behavior, we ask that you direct your comment to Mr. Eli, Mr. Schlieffer, or Ms. Kirby and allow them to speak to the students.  We also have had the privledge of Mr. Yores support and attendance within the stands at Home and Away games.  Robert advised that we have been suppling the students with water at all the games and  thanked the Lingo family for donating candy for our future parades.

Old Business

Joe Corbi

Carol Moore reported that this fundraiser went very well.  She had the help and support of Lisa Bales, PJ Hopkins, and Starr Leavel, not to mention many parents who helped with the distribution the night of pick up.  Thank you to everyone.  It was pointed out that this years fundraiser more than doubled last years and it is believed that it was because it was held during the school year.

March Mayhem
Allan Bales apologized for last months confusion and hopes many people will be able to attend this months meeting at his home on October 26th at 7pm.  Please feel free to contact Allan or Lisa at C# 265-7679.  Last years dance earned our General Fund $3000 and Allan stated that the goal for this years is $5000.  All kinds of help is needed in organizing this spring dance at Rusty Rudder.

Fundraisers

Robert is of course still taking suggestions for any and all fundraiser ideas anyone should have.  Please feel free to contact him at 684-4404.
