Music Boosters Minutes: May 5, 2008 Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. Welcome: Robert Wingo welcomed everyone and asked for everyone to be sure to sign in. Minutes: April minutes were accepted, seconded, and approved. A copy is available at tonight�s meeting. Treasurer�s Report: Christie Pierson reported $1,502.13 in the general fund, $49,388.04 in the student accounts, $5.00 in the rifle fund and $213.58 in the scholarship fund. The student account balances still include the final amount due for the band trip. A motion to accept the treasurer�s report was made, seconded, and approved. Student Accounts: Heidi Dukes reported a total of $33,674.69 in the student accounts. The final trip payment has not been removed from this balance and the profit from strawberry sales has not yet been added. Director�s Report: Barry Eli reported no changes for the Cleveland trip. Duties and room assignments were handed out to any chaperones in attendance. The trailer will be loaded on Wednesday night directly after school. Any student willing to help can stay. Due to the district retirement dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, Barry will need to leave as soon as possible. Students and chaperones are to arrive at the school on Thursday night at 11:00 p.m., buses will depart for Cleveland at midnight. At this time, we do not have a confirmed time to march at Saturday at Cedar Point Amusement Park; it could be any time that day. Curfew for Saturday night will be early, considering that wake-up time for Sunday will be between 5 � 5:30 a.m. on Sunday. Performances on Sunday start at 8:00 a.m. Sunday night�s award banquet will include a live band and students are expected to dress appropriately � no blue20jean, concert attire is fine. Mixed company in any student room will require doors to remain completely open at all times. Security guards are on the floor all night. The 9th grade band will have marching practice at the high school for 8th period on Wednesday, May 6th in preparation for this trip. Peak Performance Tours will also provide 3 digital cameras at no charge to use during the trip. We will return the cameras to them afterwards and they will make any �touch-ups� to the pictures, compile onto a CD and anyone who attended the trip will receive a CD at no charge. The band concert at the high school is scheduled for Monday, May 14th at 7:00 p.m. and the jazz band will perform on May 27th at the Lewes Library to kick-off the summer concert series. A request has not been made for a performance for Memorial Day, however we will decline due to mandatory graduation practice. Graduation will be on June 3rd at 6:30 p.m., with the band playing at 6:25. Students wi ll need to arrive to the school no later than 5:45 to be seated by 6:15. There is no specific attire for graduation but students should be presentable. Chorus: Gail Kelso did not attend and no information was available to report. President�s Report: Robert Wingo did not have any additional information to report. Old Business: Scholarship Committee: Marilyn Davis reported that 6 applications were received. After the committee reviews the applications, they will be returned by Friday to be ready for Monday. Officer�s Nomination Committee: Christina Palmer reported that we currently have the following nominees for the 2207-2008 music booster board: Robert Wingo � president Darryl Dukes � vice-president Heidi Dukes � student accounts Christie Pierson � treasurer Yvonne Lallier � secretary A vote was taken to re-instate the present board.
