Hi! I am Manasvi. My nickname is Kanu but I like to be called Kanu only by those who love me. Just for information sake, Kanu is one of the many names of Lord Krishna and it is said that Radha used to call him Kanu.

It's no use telling where I am from because I was born in Nasik, did my pre-schooling in Jabalpur, Kindergarten in Rajnandgaon, Primary education in Durg, then Secondary education and College in Gwalior. I did my graduation in Architecture from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior. I worked as an Architect/ Interior Designer in Delhi and Bangalore before joining Film and Television Institute of India in 2000.

I write stories, poems, plays as a hobby too but my favourite pastime is sketching. Give me a paper and a pen/pencil/crayon/coal and I'll kill time happily. I have participated in many Kavi Sammelans. I have designed the cover and format for a poetry book called "Tum Gaao O Meri Peeda". I even got a chance to present a paper on "Gandhian Philosophy and the concept of Low-Cost Housing" at the International Conference on Gandhian Studies. The paper has been published in a book called "Relevance of Gandhian Thought".

Music is another passion for me. But hey! Let me condense the term to just Hindi Songs. I've this thirst for rare melodies that didn't get their due recognition during their time. My collection of cassettes is something like 200 and songs range from the 1940s to the latest. I wanted to learn music but I lack patience for that matter. Anyway, one thing I hold to my credit is winning Antakshari. Twice in the cultural festival of BITS Pilani i.e. Oasis and about five times in Gwalior and thrice in FTII. People started calling me "Chalta Firta Music Bank".

FTII taught me to appreciate a film and that also resulted in four of my reviews getting published at rediff.com

Apart from my FTII projects like Catalyst, Sanskaar and Guzaraa Huaa Mausam which were screened at film festivals and channels like Star One and NDTV Profit, I also got to direct three short films - It Takes Balls, The Return and Ehsaas Emotions Etc.

For me, all media are associated with expression. Now, with my effort called "Chhavi Creations", I hope to make a mark in feature films as well as documentaries, ad films, serials, short films, music videos and so on.
