I made a few personalization "upgrades" to my Millenia.
First, I had the polished rims from the 1998 Millenia in lieu of
the painted ones that originally came on the car. Second,
I bought a set of Osram-Sylvania Silverstar bulbs for my
low-beams. The light output is great and it doesn't suffer
from the fake-HID-blue syndrome. Lastly, I have the
outer-tail lamps from the 2002 Millenia with the clear bottom
portion painted translucent red. While I rarely see other
Millenia's on the road, these simple, inexpensive changes make
my Millenia all that much more unique. |

The 2.3 Liter Miller-Cycle
engine utilizes a Lysholm compressor with Teflon-coated rotors.
Since the compressor is belt-driven, there was no "lag" while driving.
Unfortunately, the slow-reacting 4-speed
transmission wasn't well-matched, and on hot days the car was much slower. I usually averaged around 16 mpg
with 70% highway 30% city driving. In the end, outrageous insurance,
maintenance, gas, service, and parts prices forced me to get rid of the
Millenia. Some of this could probably be attributed to the fact I
had the rarer "S" model. As you can see, I certainly loved the car,
but the cons outweighed the pros of owning it.
