YEMEN: Mukullah

Here are a few pictures of the sea port of Mukullah, a very hot and muggy place.  It's amazing that with so much water nearby, there is so little vegetation growing along the hillsides.  Mesquite (probably Prosopis glandulosa), an import from the US SW, is the dominant shrub on the sandy mesas further inland.
