Day 17:
To Lorem Harbor and Beyond: Legend of the Centroid Crystal!
~Cutscene~ Up in Cid's room, the Supreme Magister sits at a large window and looks over his kingdom.  Suddenly, there is a knock at the door.  A servant walks in and gives him Dashe's letter.  Cid scrutinizes the envelope for a moment, then rips it open and begins to read.  He sighs as he folds the note back up.  As he goes to return it to its envelope, it falls and lands, doodle-side up.  Cid kneels down and fingers the napkin for a while, then puts it in his pocket, smiling.  As he is doing this, outside the window you can barely make out four figures crossing the plains just outside the Tikean gates...~End Cutscene~

On the road to Lorem Harbor, you fight countless random enemies and learn tons of new skills and magic.  By the time you reach the port town, you're around Level 10 or so and most of the party is in dire need of a Hi-Potion.  You save at the local Inn and head off in search of that guy Genji--the one who you're supposed to meet.  You travel through the hamlet and reach the shore, where you find a small cottage.  You neglect all rules of common ettiquite and barge on in, only to find a girl with bright red hair wearing a white mage's robe and standing next to a table.  Since she doesn't kick you out, you decide to engage in an intelligent conversation.

Nailo: Excuse me, but do you know a man named Genji?

Girl: Yes.  He lives here, in this cottage.  I'm his apprentice.

Dashe: AHA!  *Draws her dagger* Where is he?  I was given specific instructions to meet with him in this town!  Tell me or I'll...

Girl: Well...you see...

Elbie: What's wrong?

Girl: Um, Master Genji waited three hours for you guys to get here and decided you weren't going to make it, so he left for Lorem Cavern to look for the Centroid Crystal himself!

Entire Party: O_O

At this point, Travis spots an ant on the floor and follows it around the room.

Dashe: Do you know what Genji wants with that stupid crystal of his and why we have to find it???

Girl: I'm not quite sure.  I heard somewhere that the Centroid Crystal's a powerful energy source...perhaps Master Genji wants to build something?  Or maybe he just wants to research it...wait a second, I thought Genji had said you were coming alone!  And I always pictured you as being a little taller...

Dashe: What the...you shut it about that whole "short" thing, okay?  And where do you...hey wait, did you just say "energy source?"

Girl: Yeah...

Dashe: (Hmmm...sounds rare!  Just THINK of all the money that'll be worth...I'm gonna be RICH if I find that thing before Genji does...)

Nailo: *Hits Dashe* Forget it.  You are NOT keeping that crystal for yourself and selling it!

Dashe: Dang.

Elbie: Maybe we should head out to the cavern ourselves and catch up with Genji.  That way he won't think we all ditched him.

Nailo: Good idea.

Girl: I think Master Genji has a map somewhere in here... *Retreats into a room*  Nope, this isn't it...Oh!  Here it is!  *Returns*  This is a World Map!  The Cavern should be on it somewhere...ah!  There it is!  *Points to a spot on the map*

Dashe: Hey, that's close!  We can get there on foot easily!

Nailo: But FIRST, we're going to all the gift shops and buying souvenirs.  I didn't come all this way just so YOU could steal some dumb crystal for quick cash.

Girl: I'd like to go with you--I want to help Master Genji find the Centroid Crystal, so I'm coming too!

Dashe: All right then!  Let's head out!

You go upstairs just for fun and find a treasure chest in one of the rooms.  It contains an Ether.  You leave the cottage and head down the road to a weapon shop and get everyone items and stronger weapons, then head out of town despite Nailo's request to go on a shopping spree.  You fight your way to the cavern and spot a save point near the entrance.  Now, you've been playing this stupid game since you first put the disc in the Playstation Fill-in-your-Favorite-Number-Here, so you save and shut the console down for the night so you can finally get some sleep and go to the bathroom for once.
