| Our intent was to keep a female from "MYSTY"s last litter... Unfortunately, she didn't have any so... we chose River. Or perhaps I should say he chose us! Happy, enthusiastic, and full of life he is one of the best personalities we have known. We are focusing on his obedience work while he matures for the breed ring and are both thrilled and amazed by his talent. He has earned Highest Scoring Dog In Match three times with an average score of 198.5. He always gives 110% and can train all day long without tiring, (unlike his trainer, <VBG>). Shortly we will begin working in Agility as well as Freestyle! with him as well as working towards a JH. |

| What do you say about a puppy that takes over your house before leaving the whelping box???? In 30 yrs. of Chesapeakes we have never had one quite like him. All of our dogs have been very intelligent but Turner is one of the most brilliant I have met to date. To date he is the only dog I have ever met that OWNS HIS OWN PET! In the three years since he adopted a box turtle named Trucker there has not been a day that he does not check to see how his pet is doing. If anything is amiss he will get 'help' immediately! |
| In addition to being a wonderful companion, he has sired some outstanding litters from which there are Champions and pointed offspring as well as excellent gun dogs. We look forward watching these young dogs develop. |
| In 1999 'Turner' won FIRST PLACE in Novice B at the AMERICAN CHESAPEAKE CLUB NATIONAL SPECIALTY, and in 2002 he earned 2nd in Open A and FIRST in Graduate Novice and was on the 5th place team! Currently he is in training for Utility. |
