I had Barbies while I was growing up, but I can't say I was legitimately INTERESTED in them. I became seriously interested about 2001 when I saw a custom Barbie on the internet. Some how it led me to Dollfie and Super Dollfie. As an anime fan, Dollfie appealed to me much more than Barbie. 003. How many Super Dollfie do you have? One and a half. The rest are different brands. 004. What is/are the name/names of your doll/dolls? Violet, Freya, Alyssa, Hikaru, Veronica 005. What type of Super Dollfie(s) do you have? Violet is an SD13 Four Sisters head on a Nono Standard body, Freya is a heavily modified SD Ryo head currently on an Obitsu 60 body. 006. Do you believe in fate? This has nothing to do with dolls. 007. Who is the manufacterer of your dolls? Volks, Obitsu, Alchemic Labo, Yumia 008. What was your reaction when you saw your Super Dollfie for the first time? "Oh my God...." 009. Have you shown your doll off at a doll show? I took her to Dallas once. It wasn't that big of a show, but there were plenty of people there. The only people that recognized her were some man outside on a bench and a bunch of girls younger then me that swarmed me to see her (and the Dollfie) I had in my clear plastic case over my shoulder). Most of the people at the show seemed very uncomfortable around Vi and only one person was brave enough to take her and hold her when I offered. 010. Do you prefer commercial/default Super Dollfie or to customize your own? Customized. 011. How do you feel about commercial Super Dollfie? I think their makeup is boring and unimaginative. But I'm aware that they are all hand painted, so I can see why it would need to be simple. 012. Did you create a personality or background for your doll? They've kind of grown personalities while I've had them. Violet is aggresive, confident and a bit dark, Freya is sweet, strong and silent. Alyssa is bubbly, but also gothie, and Hikaru is just sick right now. 013. What kind of relationship do you have with your doll(s)? I really don't know. Sometimes I feel maternal toward them, and sometimes I feel like a big sister. Whichever it is they're definately part of my family. 014. Does your Super Dollfie have a nickname? Violet = Vi, Freya = UDDP, Alyssa = The Baby, Hikaru = The Boy 015. What, if any, special meaning does your doll's name have? Violet is named after a character in A Series of Unfortunate Events, Hikaru came with that name, Freya is named after the "dark" sister in Chobits (as opposed to the goddess), and Alyssa's name is actually from the "Silent Hill" games. 016. Is there a special place in your home for your Super Dollfie? If so, where? Yes. Right next to my monitor on the left. 017. Have you bought a chair specifically for your Super Dollfie? Harris got me a pink Kingstate couch for my birthday. 018. Does your Super Dollfie have accessories of her own? They have quite a few actually. There are a lot of little hair things, some jewelry, a Pikachu lunch box etc. 019. What hard-to-find items do you wish you could have for your doll(s)? Animetic eyes and custom "mature" bodies 020. What is the most expensive item you have purchased for your doll(s)? Id have to say the dolls I bought FOR them. 021. When you go out, do you take your doll(s) with you? No I don't. 022. If so, where have you taken your doll(s)? So far one's been to a doll show and another's been to the hardware store. 023. Is there a regular place you take your doll(s) to? I WOULD like to take them to a nice park to take pictures, but there are none here. 024. If you do take your doll(s) out of the house, how do you carry it/them? In my arms or on my shoulders 025. I tend to prefer straight, long glossy wigs. 032. What made you choose your doll(s) from all the varieties available? She was the VERY first one I ever saw on eBay with a "buy it now" option 033. Do you change your doll(s) wig(s) often, and have you tried styling a wig? I rarely touch their wigs, as they are hard to manage. Violet's "Chinese Girl" wig is impossible to keep looking nice. 034. I have two pair of socks between them all. 036. What style of clothing do/does your doll(s) wear? Whatever I feel like at the time. They've been punk, goth, skater, Victorian. Have you made any items you plan on selling? No, I havn't. 042. Do you sew/knit/crochet? If so, for how long? I sew poorly. I've been at it for about two years now. 043. Is there a certain type of music you listen to when you are with your dolls? No, not really. Normally when I'm working on them I'm not even in the same room as my music. 044. Have you ever thought about opening a doll shop? It would be a dream come true. I would open a shop/vinyl doll hospital. 045. They sit with ME on the loveseat that serves as my computer chair. 049. What comments have others made about your doll after seeing it in person? None really. Vi - green Freya - one red/black, one glue/green Alyssa - blue Hikaru - red (only its almost pink) 052. What is your favorite eye color and why? I don't have a favorite. 053. How often do you change the eyes? Less often than I change the wigs. 054. How many different pairs of eyes do you have? Er.... I have no idea. I don't keep them all together so I really can't say. 055. Do you believe your doll has a soul? Eh....I've always been one to think EVERYTHING has a soul. Trees, flowers, the couch I'm sitting on. 056. Do you talk to your doll(s)? While I'm working on them, yes. It seems to make the faceup or sanding go more smoothly. 057. When talking to your doll, how does she address you? They....don't talk back. They ARE dolls. 058. How do men react to your doll(s)? My ex husband HATED them. My current boyfriend told me the other day that he didn't particularly like them. His explanation was that, when he plays video games I watch, so I get something out of it. When I purchase or work on a doll, he doesn't get anything out of it. 059. What was your favorite doll growing up and why? I had quite a few. I had some hand made Raggedy Ann dolls from my great grandmother, and a doll my mom made named Elizabeth. 060. Did you have to sell items from a personal collection to finance the purchase of your doll(s)? Thankfully no. I HAVE had to sell one here and there to pay bills though. 061. If so, what did you sell? A couple dollfie. 062. How much do you spend on your doll a month? What is the maximum you would spend per month? Lately too much. Normally I don't spend on them monthly, but if I'm aggitated or depressed I spend a lot of money. 063. Have you purchased something you regretted later? Some older Poshdolls wigs that did NOT fit at all. 064. Do you like buying clothing for your doll(s)? I'm sure I would if I could afford to. 065. How often do you change your doll(s)'s clothing? Since I've been getting better at making them clothes, I change them as often as I sucecsfully create something for them to wear.. 066. If you could take your doll anywhere in the world, where would you go? A Volks store in Japan. 067. Have you ever done something to your Super Dollfie and felt bad about it? I dropped some spaghetti on her leg once. 068. What brand of paint do you use on your Super Dollfie? I don't use paint on my resin dolls at all. I use Mungyo soft pastels. 069. If you were stranded on a desert island with your doll(s), what three things would you want it/them to have? A cleaning sponge, a comb and a sun umbrella. 070. Wiring was a pain in the butt. And if I try to move ONE arm, the other moves ,too, if I forget to hold it down. 077. If you could change anything about the Super Dollfie body, what would it be? I want a mature body. Large bust, slender waist, legs, arms. I can't be that way because I'm short and small busted, my dolls should be able to have the glamorous, sexy body I wish I had. 078. Have you sueded and wired your doll(s)? Wired, yes. 079. If your Super Dollfie could be friends with any other Super Dollfie, who would they be friends with? They're friends with each other. Though I think Alyssa would enjoy assisting Doc. 080. Do you plan to get more Super Dollfie in the future? No, but I'm thinking of getting a Luts Chiwoo. I do want a DD, as well. 081. If so, which? If I WERE to get a Volks dolls, I'd probably get a Lucas, since the boys I want are all limited. 082. Do you redo their faceup(s) often? Not very often. I'm satisfied with Violet's right now, so I don't see myself changing it any time soon. I do plan on redoing Freya, though. 083. Do/does your Super Dollfie have a favorite color? No. 084. In general, what is your Super Dollfie's mood/look? Violet is dark and glamorous, Freya is light and natural (despite the green hair) Alyssa is post apocalyptic punk and Hikaru is in peices. 085. I have one complete Azone outfit. 092. Is/are there any Super Dollfie you regret not buying? Seeing as how the ones I do have have eaten every bit of money I had, no. 093. Imagine the house is on fire: Do you take your Super Dollfie, your wallet, some clothes, or just save yourself? I think I'd actually put my efforts toward my boyfriend, his mom and the cats.
